Mdundo Tanzania and Mwananchi Communications Limited Support Fathers at Muhimbili National Hospital
In a heartwarming gesture ahead of Father’s Day on Sunday, 16th June 2024, Mdundo Tanzania, in collaboration with Mwananchi Communications Limited, visited fathers and father figures at the Muhimbili National Hospital’s Department of Mental Health. The initiative, part of the ongoing men’s mental health awareness month, aimed to provide support and recognition to these individuals.
Recognizing the therapeutic role of music and art in mental health, the visit underscored the importance of such interventions in mental health care. The team brought various donations, including hospital gowns, Crocs, nail cutters, and toothbrushes, among other essential items. The donations were graciously received by Dr. Swai, Head of the Department of Mental Health, accompanied by Dr. Mtei, Mental Health Block Manager, and Dr. Kimanthy, an occupational therapist.
Mdundo, Africa’s leading music service, has been a staunch supporter of mental health initiatives within the entertainment sector, understanding the pressures and lifestyle expectations placed on artists. The company’s commitment to mental health is part of a broader effort to foster a supportive and understanding environment for all.
